Simatic ET 200SP Motor Starter

Compact, Smart Starter for Motors and Other Loads

No matter the task—switching or controlling, starting or monitoring—the powerful Simatic ET 200SP motor starter offers versatile functionality while taking up minimal space.

The Simatic ET 200SP motor starters are available in standard and failsafe variants. They switch and protect electrical loads up to 5.5 kW in various applications, such as logistics systems and production machinery. With a combination of compact design and hybrid switching technology in five power variants, the motor starter delivers exceptional performance.

When starting single-phase and three-phase motors, the motor starter reliably protects them against overload and short circuits. Additionally, it provides extensive measurement and diagnostic functions. For example, it can detect zero currents, and the current values can be transmitted for logging and energy management purposes.

Like all components in the Simatic ET 200 system, the motor starters are easy to install. Thanks to push-in technology, wiring can be done tool-free. The mounting base allows multiple motor starters to be connected to the main power circuit. Once installed, they can be easily parameterized via TIA Portal.

Guaranteed Safe Shutdown

The ET 200SP motor starters offer two options for safely shutting down the motor. For a standalone safety function, the Sirius 3SK safety relay can be used to separate standard control from the safety system. For integrated safety solutions, the motor can be shut down using the F-CPU, allowing the safety solution to be seamlessly integrated into the automation system.

The ET 200SP motor starter also offers many additional features. For example, the “quick stop” function enables fast stopping of goods on a conveyor belt by switching off the motor independently of the PLC, increasing productivity and conveyor throughput. The overload function ensures rapid system shutdown in case of mechanical blockages, such as a conveyor belt jam, enhancing system availability.
